With two main international airports, Dubai has plenty of flight options from the UK, whether its the 20+ daily direct flights or the numerous indrect options, the market is full of airlines wanted to get you some incredible fares to Dubai.

Once arrived, the city is often easiest to get around by taxi, which are cheap. That said, ask anyone in Dubai what's wrong with the city and many will say the traffic during peak rush hour. Try the citys monorail service which goes up and down the length of Dubai, stopping at key attractions such as the Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina and Dubai International Airport. Travel cards are also relatively inexpensive.

For those who love to shop, this really is the place to go. From the old souks that sell traditional wares, to the high end luxury boutique hotels in one of the many malls, and even the Karama market where a lot of haggling will get you discounted watches and bags.

Where to stay in Dubai

If you're only in Dubai on a short city break, you will want to maximise your time in the city. Try flying overnight directly from the UK. This means you land in the morning and can head straight to the hotel to enjoy what Dubai has to offer, saving on a night's accommodation.

If it's just the sunshine you are after, make sure your hotel has a nice pool, as no doubt that will be where you are spending most of your time. Dubai Mall is also an area to think about with it's good transport links and proximity to a number of Dubai's key attractions.
