Parkdean Ocean Edge

About the Parkdean Ocean Edge Holiday Park

Just outside of Lancaster, near Heysham, Parkdean Resorts' Ocean Edge Holiday Park sits on a fantastic part of the Lancashire coastline. One of Parkdean's quieter parks, Ocean Edge is ideal for those looking for a holiday escape, but still with a few facilities and activities and 20 minutes outside Lancaster city centre.

The site has a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets with 2 and 3 bedroom caravans which can sleep up to 8 people. For families, the heated indoor pool, amusement arcade and 10-pin bowling alley will help keep everyone busy, while a day trip to Lancaster to explore Lancaster Castle is a fantastic day out.

Ocean Edge Park Facilities

Ocean Edge is a quieter holiday park, so don't expect all the bells and whistles you might get from some of the larger, more popular holiday resorts. Here, the slower pace of life prevails with plenty of walking opportunities outside of the park. Back in the park and your entertainment pass will give you access to live, evening entertainment, kids clubs, amusement arcade and indoor swimming pool. You also have access to the on-site 10-pin bowling alley, however this is at an additional cost.

Also within the complex, the more practical facilities like launderette, convenience store, Costa coffee shop and restaurant allow you to make sure you're able to make the most of your holiday. WiFi is also available in the main complex.

If booking directly with Parkdean, entertainment passes are included within the cost of your holiday. Check out our full guide to entertainment passes at Ocean Edge here.

Caravan Facilities

Caravans at Ocean Edge range from the budget friendly Whitehaven caravan to the more modern, larger Overton Lodge. All basic caravans include central heating, TV, DVD player, fridge/freezer, gas cooker and microwave, but why not splash out and upgrade to a larger lodge with extra space and an outdoor veranda, perfect for relaxing on warm summer evenings.

The holiday park is pet-friendly and some of the caravans allow up to two dogs to stay at a cost of £40 per dog per week. Accessible caravans are also available offering extra wide doors, access ramps, extra handrails and fold-down shower seat in the bathroom.

Things To Do Near Ocean Edge Holiday Park

Many guests come back to Ocean Edge time and time again because of it's beautiful coastal location. Daily walks along the beach and coastline are the perfect way to stay fit on holiday and take in that fresh sea air.

Heysham and Heysham Harbour are both a short drive away, and popular Morecambe isn't too far either if you fancy a wander through the local area or to spend time in a more livelier area.

Lancaster city centre is also just a 20 minute drive, and is perfect for a day trip out with the family. Be sure to head to Lancaster Castle for a trip back in time to discover it's medieval history.

Reviews

While it's quieter location and proximity to Heysham Nuclear Power Station can put people off, we think Parkdean's Ocean Edge Leisure Park is a great stay for those simply looking to get away and enjoy some time by the coast without the need of hundreds of activities tokeep them entertained. The nearest train station is Heysham Port, however, you would need to get a taxi from the station to the holiday park.
