Great Hotels In Magaluf We Think You'll Love

Getting to, from and around Magaluf

Flying to Palma will take about 2½ hours from the UK with airlines including Jet2, easyJet, TUI, British Airways and Ryanair all offering flights from the UK. Once on the island, there are a couple of ways to get from Palma airport to Magalluf. The easiest and most affordable way is a prebooked coach transfer which will take around an hour depending on how many stops there are along the way. When booking a package holiday with the likes of Jet2holidays or TUI holidays, this may be included so check whether it is, otherwise you can add a transfer at the time you book.

Alternatively, you can book a private transfer which will take around 25-30 minutes but will cost more as you won't be sharing with other holidaymakers. There is a bus service direct from Magaluf to the airport, however this will take some time. Once you're on the island, hiring a car is a great way to explore the island, or alternatively taxis are fairly easy to get hold of in the main tourist areas.

Once you're in the resort, walking is the best way to get around, although with plenty of slopes and hills, this might not be for everyone. This is especially the case if you're staying around the Carrer Torrenova or Carrer Martin Ros Garcia area. Punta Ballena is the main area for lively bars and restaurants, which is just one street from the beach and perfect for busier holidays to Magaluf.

Things to do in Magaluf

Magaluf is one of the livelier holiday resorts in Majorca. Well known for its club and nightlife scene, if you're on a party holiday in Magaluf, make sure to check out some of the main clubs including BCM and MCP. There are plenty of day time and late night bars too. Be sure to check out a few along the main promenade of Carrer Punta Ballena. Certain hotels may also have lively pool party scenes, with regular live DJs, switching from chilled poolside vibes during the day to more of a club party scene at night. If this is what you're after, check out Jet2 VIBE holidays for some popular options.

Magaluf Beach

Magaluf Beach is the perfect place to spend a day. The soft, sandy beach and clear blue waters are the stuff of Instagram. Grab some food from the supermarket for a picnic or enjoy lunch at one of the many seaside cafes, bars and restaurants. It's relatively easy to get to wherever you're staying but if you're actually in the north of the town, you might find that Son Matias Beach, also a white sand beach, is closer and just as pretty. Or why not hire a car for the day and discover other beaches around the island.

Water Sports

Have a sense of adventure? Why not try your hand at a range of water sports, available from the local beaches, including activities like jet skis, snorkeling and parasailing.

Water Parks

There are a couple of great water parks in Mallorca, but if you're enjoying an adults only holiday in Magalluf, the Twisted Water Park is close by. Open during the summer months, the park has a number of fun slides, as well as a beach style pool for chilling. Be sure to check opening dates before you book to avoid disappointment.

Where to stay in Magaluf

For those who want to be in the heart of it, the main clubbing strip in Magaluf is called Carrer Punta Ballena. Here you'll find the big clubs and lively streets, so this is the place to be near on a clubbing holiday. Party hotels like the BH Mallorca and lively Magaluf Hotel are ideal who like to enjoy a lively poolside atmosphere, with DJs and live performances in the sun, especially if you don't want to leave your sun lounger.

For those who want somewhere a little more family friendly, try the Sol Kathmandu Park & Resort which has its own range of waterslides and mini golf, plus kids clubs. Other family hotels in Magaluf include the Sol Barbados and the FERGUS Club Mallorca Waterpark Hotel which also has a fun splash park for the kids.
