The Coral Sea Holiday Resort, also known as the Holiday Village Red Sea by TUI, is a fantastic family friendly resort, located just north of Sharm El Sheikh airport. This stretch of coast in Egypt enjoys gorgeous sandy beaches on the shores of the Red Sea. The resorts here are typically pretty large and the Holiday Village Red Sea is no exception with 484 rooms, 4 swimming pools, a spa, 7 restaurants, 6 bars, mini water park, and so much more. It's also one of the best Holiday Villages according to reviews on TripAdvisor and we love it too!
Why Are There Different Names For The Hotel?
The hotel is known by two different names. During the summer, between May and October, the hotel is referred to as the Holiday Village Red Sea. This is because during these months, there's a comprehensive mix of entertainment, kids' clubs, sports and stage academies and activities which are run by the TUI Holiday Villages team. From October / November to April, the hotel is known as the Coral Sea Holiday Resort, which still has great facilities and activities like the spa and entertainment run by the hotel, but what is put on by the HV team does not take place.
Room Types
There's a good range of rooms here ranging from the budget friendly double rooms, to the suites with a kids' den for families. All rooms have a hair dryer, air conditioning, private bathroom with a shower, TV and tea and coffee making facilities, as well as free WiFi. Interconnecting rooms are available upon request and are subject to availability.
Double Room With Balcony Or Terrace
As the standard room type here, the double rooms have either a balcony or terrace, allowing you to enjoy plenty of space on holiday. These rooms feature air conditioning, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, TV and private bathroom. They also have space for a rollaway bed, allowing up to 3 people (2 adults and 1 child) to sleep here.
The Deluxe Select Double Rooms are a spacious upgrade and an affordable option for families of four. Similar to double rooms, they have all the mod-cons you need, but have extra space for two roll-away beds, rather than just the one, so 2 children can sleep in this room.
The Swim Up Rooms are the ideal option if you love your space and a bit more privacy. There's nothing quite like waking up in the morning, stepping onto your balcony and taking a dip in the pool. These rooms have all the same facilities and amenities as standard rooms, but have private access to a shared swimming pool.
For extra space AND privacy, the Family Rooms provide just that. With a double bed for the adults, there's an extra section of the room with two sofa beds which can act as either an extra living space or a bedroom area that's separated by sliding doors.
For the ultimate family holiday, the Junior Suite with Kid's Den is a spacious upgrade with a separate room for children, with its own TV, bean bags and bunk beds.
During the summer months, the temperatures are nice and warm, and so prices can rise too, due to demand. Often, the best holiday deals here are when you book a flight and hotel package through TUI, which includes check-in luggage and airport transfers. If you try and book the hotel separately, you'll usually find the price is much higher.
Hotel Only
You can book the hotel on it's own and book your flights separately, however, you lose the financial protection that many ABTA and ATOL protected tour operators provide. You can book directly through TUI, or during the winter season, you can book with other tour operators like loveholidays and easyJet Holidays, or you can book hotel only through Booking.com and Expedia.
Deals & Discounts
Free child places are often available at the Holiday Village Red Sea, however, it is a popular resort so it's worth booking in advance to secure this offer. But don't worry, there is also a low deposit scheme with TUI which allows you to book your holiday and protect the price, and pay monthly. Sometimes other TUI voucher codes including their Holidays For Heroes savings are available, which are often visible on the TUI website, or are applied automatically to the holiday price.
The four swimming pools here are split into one indoor pool which is located in the spa, and three outdoor pools, including a dedicated adults only pool. There are a couple of waterslides in the main pool area, however, guests can also use the aqua park located at the nearby sister hotel, Coral Sea Aqua Club, where there is a lazy river, children's splash park, as well as various waterslides.
Spa & Fitness Centre
The gym provides just enough to keep those holiday pounds off, with both cardio equipment and weights, and the spa is the perfect place to unwind and escape the kids for a few hours. Here you'll find the indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub, as well as treatment rooms where you can enjoy a variety of therapies and treatments like massages and body wraps.
Entertainment
During the summer months, between May and early October, you'll be able to enjoy a great range of daytime activities and evening entertainment, put on by the TUI Holiday Village team. This can range from poolside games, aqua aerobics and beach volleyball, to party nights, live music and shows. During the winter months, although there is still an activity programme and evening entertainment, it is much more limited.
Kids Club, Creche & Activities
There is a fantastic kids' club here in the summer which is open 7 days a week. The HV Club is split into three age groups, 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years. Pretty much all of the activities on offer are free of charge, ranging from sports and games to arts and crafts. There is also a creche for babies aged 0-35 months between May and October. For teens, there's the Zone, an activity area with computer games and activities to keep them busy. As with all Holiday Village hotels, in the summer, there is a Football Academy, Swim Academy and Stage Academy. All three cost extra and must be booked. It's actually worth booking well in advance of arriving as these can get fully booked quickly, especially during the school holidays, when there are more families staying.
Food & Drink
With 7 restaurants and 6 bars, you've got a whole host of places to eat and drink, ranging from poolside cocktails to Mediterranean dishes with a stunning sea view.
All Inclusive
As an all inclusive hotel, you're meals that are included will be at the main buffet restaurant, The Dine Around, but certain other restaurants allow you too dine there once per week of your stay.
Restaurants
Breakfast, lunch and dinner for all inclusive guests are served in The Dine Around restaurant, which has an extensive menu of both local and international dishes.
The Piazza restaurant offers al fresco dining by the lake.
Bamboo
Bamboo is the hotel's Asian Fusion restaurant, serving a mix of dishes from across the Far East, and is only open for dinner.
Village Diner
The Village Diner perches on the edge of the resort by the beach, perfect for an evening meal in the sunshine. Here you can enjoy Mexican & American dishes, like burgers and fajitas, and guests can enjoy a meal here once per week on the all inclusive board basis.
Mediterraneo
If you like Italian food, you'll love Mediterraneo. This place serves up delicious Italian cuisine including pizza and pasta, and guests on all inclusive can dine here for free, once per week of their stay.
The Stone Grill
No holiday resort is ever complete without a grill restaurant and The Stone Grill does not disappoint. Whether you enjoy fish, meat or love some freshly grilled vegetables, this place is for you, however, this restaurant is not included, and has an extra charge.
Bars
There are multiple bars here, ranging from the pool bar that's perfect for cooling off during the day with your favourite beverage, to the sports bar showing all the latest matches and games.
Things to Do
Coming to an all inclusive resort, you might be tempted to sit back, relax and enjoy the sunshine, pools, food and drink, but don't be fooled, there's so much more to do here.
Beach Watersports
The Coral Sea Holiday Resort sits right on the beachfront here. The beach is soft golden sand and the water is a lucious turquoise blue. You come here just to dip your toes in the water but you've got to try out other fun beach activities and water sports like beach volleyball, or head out and try your hand at snorkelling or even scuba diving.
Water park
The water park at the sister hotel across the road is a fun day out for all the family. While the kids are running about zipping down the flumes and racing slides, you can enjoy a leisurely swim around the lazy river, before relaxing under the sunshine.
Excursions
There are a range of excursions and tours you can also go on here. From boat trips and scuba diving, to days trips to Cairo, there's plenty to see and do. You can either speak to the in-resort holiday rep or reception staff to find out what's available, or you can book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Getting Here
Sharm El Sheikh International Airport is only 11km away from the hotel can cost between £10-15 each way, however, by far the most cost effective way to get to the hotel is by coach transfer which is included in the cost of your holiday when you book with TUI.

As a popular, family-friendly resort, it's worth booking early to secure these holiday deals, as they can go quickly, but you might still find the odd one or two free kids' places at the last minute.
