Where To Stay In St Lucia
The island is split into a number of regions and depending on the sort of holiday you're after, will depend on where you want to stay in St Lucia. For example, if you enjoy a quiet escape, but with the easy ability of checking out the local delights, then the region of Castries might be for you with day trips to the capital city. Alternatively, if you enjoy a larger resort in a popular touristy area, then somewhere like Rodney Bay might be more for you, with hotels like Royalton St Lucia and Sandals.
Things To Do
There are plenty of things to do on the island if you're looking to escape the confines of your hotel and enjoy some of the local culture, activities and food. The lush, tropical forests have a variety of hikes to discover and enjoy, and perhaps a trek up the iconic Gros Piton mountain is ideal if you've got the fitness level.
Elsewhere, take a day trip into one of the island's larger towns or city like Castries or Soufriere, to take a wander around the markets and try some of the local Creole cuisine. Or if you fancy something a little more adventurous, head to the sea and discover some of the shipwrecks off the coast.

Most of the big, tourist hotels on the island are either exclusively all inclusive or at least offer it as an option, meaning that travellers can simply fly in and relax at the hotel, with all the food and drink options to keep you happy. Hotels like Calabash Cove and Ladera Resort offer multiple dining options, whereas resorts like the Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort and Royalton St Lucia generally only offer an all inclusive board basis.
Budget Friendly Hotels
Many hotels are in the premium range, offering that luxury, tropical holiday for customers who can afford it, however, if you're on a budget, there are still some great options to help you enjoy a cheap holiday in Saint Lucia. Take a look at hotels in the Rodney Bay area, such as the 3-star Harbor Club for a modern, bed & breakfast option, or the 4-star Bay Gardens Marina Haven, which is across the road from Rodney Bay Marina and has a free shuttle bus to the beach.
