Getting to, from and around Paphos

There are a number of airlines flying from the UK to Paphos, including Ryanair and easyJet in the winter when flight schedules are often reduced. Once in Cyprus, getting from Paphos airport to Paphos city is easy by bus or taxi. If you're head to one of the smaller beach resorts around Paphos, you will probably find that a coach airport transfer is an easy and affordable way to get there from the airport.

If you're staying in Paphos city, walking is a great way to get around and see the city, but taxis are regularly available around the city and in key resorts. Public buses are available but can be somewhat limited depending on where you want to go.

Things to do in Paphos

Staying in Paphos city, you've got a great number of things on your doorstep. For a start, you've got a number of beaches that are dotted along this part of the coast, including Alykes Beach and Lighthouse Beach. And a wander along the promenade sand coastal paths are perfect for burning off all that holiday indulgence.

There are also two fantastic water parks in Paphos, Splash Waterpark to the north near Lempa and Paphos Waterpark near Rojo's Beach in the south. Alternatively, to learn a bit more about the history of the island, try a visit to Kato Paphos Archaeological Park and the Tombs of the Kings.

When to go to Paphos

Like most of Cyprus, summer is the most popular time to enjoy a holiday in Paphos, especially for families. The shoulder seasons during May and September/October are also a great time to go, when the temperature isn't too high but still warm enough to enjoy some much needed vitamin D. Some hotels do close in the winter season but you can still find a good holiday bargain in December and January.

Where to stay in Paphos

Paphos as an area is quite spread out so you'll want to find out where to stay. The airport is to the south, so if you hate long transfers, try areas like Rikkos Beach and Alykes Beach in the south. Alternatively many regular holidaymakers love the area around Coral Bay for its family friendly hotel resorts and beautiful beaches. There are lots of holiday villas in Cyprus too.
