We absolutely love getting inspired by trips on the big screen. The magical destinations people travel to and the exciting adventures the stars get up to all combine for an enthrawling escape that intrugues and inspires. So we pulled together some of the best trips and famous holidays from our favourite TV programmes and films.

The 2008 film, In Bruges, sees hitmen Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson), waiting out in the city of Bruges until their receive their next instructions.
While we 100% DO NOT endorse Ray & Ken's activities while in Bruges, we 100% DO recommend visiting! It's an absolutely gorgeous city.
While the guys stayed at a fictional "run-of-the-mill" hotel in town, the outside of the hotel was the 4-star Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce hotel, a luxury 16-room hotel, with part-timber facade and an iconic building in the city.
You can take the Eurostar from London to Brussels and connect onto a local train which heads to Brugge and takes about 1 hour. Alternatively, you can fly to Brussels, and from there you can take the train to Bruges.

A Christmas classic, The Holiday sees Iris Simpkins (Kate Winslet) and Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) swap homes for two weeks after both suffering from heartbreak. While Amanda cozies up in a cute cottage in the 'middle of nowhere' Surrey, Iris heads stateside to a gorgeous home in California.
Iris flew the next day in economy class from London to Los Angeles. Last minute flights aren't always cheap, and this journey would have cost between £1,500 and £2,000 per person.
The fictional house is set in Brentwood, Los Angeles, however, the actually house where the external shots were filmed is in San Marino, California. It was last valued in 2018 for a cool $11.8 million. All the internal shots were actually filmed in a studio.
Home exchanges are becoming more and more popular, although I think you might be quite lucky to exchange a home with somewhere like this in California. If you manage it, then it's just your last minute flights. If you want to book accommodation, we found these similar homes in Los Angeles on Airbnb for rent.

The famous Solana Hotel in Benidorm saw a whopping 10 seasons of calamity and hilarity as some oddball staff and holidaymakers spent time at this Spanish hotspot. The hotel featured was actually the 3-star Sol Pelicanos Ocas, a Melia hotel which is now far from the basic resort we are used to seeing. And you can stay there and enjoy a cocktail at the pool bar too.
Flying out to Benidorm is easy with direct flights from across the UK to Alicante. From there, the best way to get from Alicante airport to Benidorm is a pre-booked coach transfer, which is sometimes included within most package holidays with Jet2holidays and TUI.
The Sol Pelicanos Ocas lies in the west of the town just a few streets from the sandy Playa de Llevant beach.
