INTERCONNECTING ROOMS

Best Cruise Ships With Interconnecting Cabins

Many of today's leading cruise lines understand the needs of families, and offer ships with interconnecting cabins, ensuring parents can keep an eye on little ones while still enjoying their own space. Royal Caribbean, for instance, includes family-friendly cabin configurations aboard ships like Independence of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, where adjoining staterooms make group travel seamless. Meanwhile, Carnival's "Family Harbour" cabins, available on ships such as Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, deliver thoughtfully designed interconnecting cabins with extra conveniences tailored for families.

Closer to home, P&O Cruises have four ships which have interconnecting rooms, two are family friendly and two are adults only, so if you have older "children", this can work really well.

Interconnecting Balconies

Where interconnecting cabins aren't available, it's worth knowing that interconnecting balconies often are. Whether you're just two cabins side-by-side, or a group of 12 across six cabins, this can be a great way to spend time together. Speak with the cruise customer service or sales team to see if this is available on your cruise. if you have booked cabins with an adjoining balcony, When you're on board, all you need to do is speak to your cabin attendant who can open these up for you.

Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)

So much going on you'll never get bored

Norwegian Aqua

Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is a popular option for families and one of their latest ships, Norwegian Aqua is certainly up there as one of their best. Not only does the ship have a kids' club, waterslides and an LED sports court, they also have interconnecting cabins so that families can holiday together with plenty of space.

Most Norwegian Aqua cabins can sleep up to four people, but if you are a larger family, or perhaps you've got teens in tow, being able to expand into a second cabin can make all the difference, especially when it comes to getting ready for dinner. Plus NCL have a more relaxed attitude towards dressing up in the evening.

How To Book Interconnecting Cabins

One of the best and easiest ways to book interconnecting cabins (and check if there are any available on the cruise you're after), is to book direct and contact the cruise line directly.

Booking directly online with certain cruise lines, it may automatically offer you the option of interconnecting cabins when you book. For others, you might need to check the deck plan to see which cabins are interconnecting, and then request specific cabins. If in doubt, call the sales team or customer service to check.

If you're booking through a travel agent or tour operator, who are booking the cruise on your behalf, they should be able to jump in and organise the interconnecting cabins if there are any available on your ship. That's one of the benefits of booking with a specialist agent, they can sort it all for you.
