Budget will often play a major factor is where you stay but with Berlin being well connected no matter where you stay, the city's attractions are never difficult to get to, and there is always the option to venture out of the city to explore some of the surrounding towns and villages.

Berlin is currently served by two airports, Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schoenefeld airports. Both have transport links to the city with the majority of low-cost airlines using Schoenefeld airport.
One of the many great things about Berlin is it's 24 hour underground system. The 'U-bahn' as it's often referred serves much of the city while the overground trains, the 'S-bahn' covers area that the U-bahn doesn't run to.
Buses are also frequent in the city, ideal for shorter journeys. Day and multi-day passes can be bought to save money if you are going to use public transport a lot during your stay.
