Also known as the Holiday World Village Hotel, the Holiday Village Costa Del Sol is a fantastic resort for your next family holiday in 2024/2025. As with all of the Holiday Village hotels, it really is family friendly, with large apartments and bedrooms, indoor game zone and mini waterpark, as well as kids options in the buffet restaurant and, of course, the HV Club.
Set atop the cliffside, the hotel with its main pool is separated from the Holiday World Beach Club by a main road (which has a pedestrian bridge). It's at the Beach Club where you'll find all the exciting extras. 9 swimming pools including a wave pool, waterslides plus entertainment in July and August with Music & Pool Sunsets. There is also a snack bar on-site for when you get peckish during the day, and you can also hire out a private VIP area too!

One Bedroom Apartment
One Bedroom Apartments can sleep up to four people (2 adults in the bedroom and a further two extra sofa beds in the living room area). These apartments offer lots of space for families and feature a balcony or terrace, as well as mini kitchen with cooking rings, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus air conditioning.
Similar to the standard one bedroom apartments, the sea view option allows you to upgrade and relax on your balcony while watching the ocean waves. They also have a spacious en-suite bathroom, mini kitchen and space for four (2 adults and 2 children).
The Select One Bedroom Apartments provide a little extra for your stay. From the necessities like tea and coffee making facilities, to the small touches like bathrobes and slippers, these apartments just add a little extra magic to your holiday.
The one bedroom family room is great for larger families. A dedicated bedroom with double bed and balcony, a children's room with bunk beds and a pullout bed in the living room for a further two children, means it can accommodate up to six people.
For the best deals and availability, you can book through First Choice or TUI which have exclusive access at certain times of the year (including school summer holidays) to the hotel. Along with better availability, you'll also get an ABTA and ATOL protected package, shared airport transfers and 20kg check-in luggage per person to name a few.
Booking in advance, you can also take advantage of their no deposit option, securing the price of your holiday and giving you time to pay of the balance of the holiday.
At other times of the year, you may be able to book via other tour operators like loveholidays, easyJet Holidays, On The Beach and Jet2holidays, or you can book the hotel and flights separately, booking the accommodation directly on the Holiday World Village Hotel website, and your flights separately with companies like Ryanair, Wizzair or easyJet.
Along with all the great things you'd expect, there is also free Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel, although, it can be patchy, a games room, kids' club, sports facilities and more.
Swimming Pools & Beach Club
There are three swimming pools within the main hotel complex, which are an kids pool, main pool and an indoor pool within the spa area. Guests also have access to the beach club which has additional pools including a wave pool, and children's pool with pirate ship.
Entertainment
During the summer, there is a comprehensive entertainment programme, ranging from daytime activities, through to live music, shows and karaoke in the evenings. You'll also find a cinema room,
Spa & Gym
The Village Health Club is the spa and fitness centre. Here, you can keep fit within the gym, which has a range of cardio and weight machines, as well as enjoy a relaxing afternoon using the spa facilities, which includes jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath. Treatments including manicures, pedicures and massages are also available for an extra charge. Dedicated time for families with children between 10am - 2pm is also available.
Kids' Club
The HV Kids' Club is split into two age groups, 3-8 year olds and 9-15 year olds. The HV Creche is also available for babies and has trained staff. The hotel also offers a football academy and a swim academy (both at an extra cost), which can be a great way to help children learn new skills. Two playgrounds complete the kids area.
Sports
One of the great things about staying here is the various sports on offer. From the more relaxed mini golf to the more adventurous aerial adventure course, there's so much to try. Multi-sports courts for basketball and football are also available.

Restaurants
The hotel offers three main restaurants, including one buffet style eatery, an Italian restaurant and an American hamburger restaurant too. The main buffet restaurant is La Perla which offers a wide range of local and international dishes. Both the Italian restaurant and the American diner are open for dinner only, between 6pm and 9:30pm, and hotel guests can enjoy on meal in each for every 7 nights they stay (2 visits included for 14 nights), so dining options don't feel so restricted.
Open during the day, the hotels' two snack bars are ideal for when you're feeling a little peckish by the pool but don't want to venture into the restaurant. You can grab anything from pool bar cocktails to afternoon ice creams.
Bars
There are four bars, The Village Cavern which is an Irish pub which has a very relax vibe. La Colonial Piano Bar is the other which is also chilled but offers live music. The other two are pool bars.
Things to Do
The hotel is designed with families in mind, offering plenty of activities and entertainment to enjoy while you're staying. Although there isn't too much in the direct vicinty of the hotel, the hotel is located on a great part of the Costa Del Sol, and a public bus service runs from outside the complex to the nearby towns of Benalmadena and Fuengirola, if you fancy a day trip to either for a bit of shopping or a change of scenery from the resort.
Mijas Day Trip
A 20 minute drive from the hotel, the traditional town of Mijas is a fantastic day trip if you fancy escaping the pool and discovering a more traditional Spanish town along this part of the Costa del Sol.
Water Park
Time at the Beach Club is a great option. This small waterpark has a range of slides and a wave pool on offer. Certain slides require you to buy an inflatable, of which half you get back as a deposit.
Beach
Playa de Carvajal is the nearest beach and is a good 15 minute walk. It's worth noting that the walk back up to the hotel is on a fairly steep slope so bear this in mind if you've got a push chair, have children or people in your group who aren't as physically abled.

Getting Here
By far the best way to get to the hotel is through an organised airport transfer. If booking with TUI or First Choice, this is included in the cost of your holiday. If you book with another company or book your hotel and flights separately, you'll need to add this on. A taxi will take around 30 minutes from Malaga airport. The other option is car hire. Book in advance for the best rates and pick up your hire car at the airport. Alternatively you can hire a car at the hotel. There is a car park at the hotel, however parking has an extra charge.
Holiday World Resort Hotels
As part of the Holiday World Resort chain, there are four other accommodation options in the same area of Benalmadena, which are Casamaia Apartments, Riwo Hotel, Polynesia Hotel and the Village Hotel (this one). Along with the Beach Club, there's also the Sports Centre which has a range of sports facilities including astro turf pitches, basketball court, football academy in the summer, personal training and padel tennis. The other hotels also have access to the sports activities.
Holiday Village Costa Del Sol Reviews
The latest reviews in 2024 are good with customers rating the hotel an average of 4 out of 5 on TripAdvisor (which is listed as Holiday World Village Hotel on TripAdvisor. Many previous hotel guests talk about how friendly and helpful the staff are and generally it's a decent hotel. The downsides talked about online are that food in the restaurants is fairly average. The area isn't much to write home about and although you get access to the beach club, to go on certain rides you need to buy an inflatable.
