Opening in April 2026, the Akra Didim Resort & Spa is one of the most exciting new hotels on the Turkish Aegean coast, and one of the first properties TUI has ever featured in Didim. Part of a joint venture between TUI Group and the highly regarded Akra Hotels, this is a hotel that takes its food, wellness and sport seriously — and does all three exceptionally well.

Located on the Turkish Aegean coast between the ancient city of Miletus and the Temple of Apollo at Didyma, you are staying in one of Turkey's most historically rich areas. The ruins here rival anything you will find in Antalya or Dalaman, but without the same crowds. Didim itself has a lovely marina, good local restaurants and a relaxed pace that is very different from the busier Aegean resorts.

The resort itself is a significant property with 359 rooms and suites, including some beautiful Priene Houses designed as private escapes for both couples and families. The range of room types means there is genuinely something for everyone, whether you are travelling as a couple looking for a suite with a pool and jacuzzi, or as a family wanting space and comfort in the Priene Houses.

The Temple of Apollo at Didyma

One of the most impressive ancient sites in the entire Aegean region, the Temple of Apollo is just a short drive from the resort and is genuinely unmissable. The scale of the columns rivals Ephesus but with far fewer tour buses. Go in the morning for the best experience.

Ancient Miletus

The ruins of the ancient city of Miletus, once one of the greatest cities in the ancient world — are nearby and easily combined with a visit to Didyma. Hire a car or book a local guide through the hotel.

Didim Marina and Town

The marina area in Didim has a good selection of waterfront restaurants, bars and cafes. It is worth spending an evening here to get a feel for the local town rather than staying on resort every night. The evening promenade (carsi) is a very Turkish experience.

Water Sports

The Aegean coastline around Didim is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and sailing. The resort's beach access provides a base for water sports, and local operators offer boat trips along the coast.

Day Trip to Bodrum

Bodrum is around an hour's drive south and offers a complete contrast to Didim. It's a glamorous marina town with designer boutiques, rooftop bars and the impressive Castle of St Peter. Well worth a day trip.

Getting Here

The nearest airport is Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV), approximately 60-75 minutes' drive. If you book a TUI package, airport transfers are typically included. Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is an alternative, approximately 90 minutes away. The drive along the Aegean coast is very scenic.
