If you enjoy the luxury of the UK's flag carrier, BA city breaks are the perfect way to explore hundreds of destinations with British Airways, and with hand-baggage only fares, means your preferred getaway could be even cheaper than you thought. From city breaks in Barcelona to a long weekend in NYC, there are loads of great options to choose from.
If you're a member of British Airways' Executive Club, you can also collect Avios points on your flights, and spend points towards the cost of your holiday. It's worth noting that BA companion ticket availability can be a little scarce, so popular destinations like New York, Venice, Prague and Marrakech might be a little more difficult to come by if you wanted to use your companion ticket.
If London City Airport, is your local, BA Cityflyer flies to a dozen or so cities in Europe as well as New York. You can also enjoy a break from Manchester or Scotland too and see the sights of many cities in Europe like Rome, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Rome
Rome is a fantastic city to explore, from it's incredible history, to it's sublime Italian cuisine. A BA city break to Rome is possible from three London airports, Gatwick, Heathrow and London City.
Venice
If you've never been to Venice, it truly is stunning and ideal for a romantic city break. While we all know it's full of canals, one of the best ways to explore the city is by foot, getting lost in the back streets and stumbling upon a cute canalside restaurant.
Barcelona
A favourite for beach and city, BA city breaks to Barcelona are possible from London Heathrow and Gatwick airports. For outdoor adventurers, make sure to head out and explore Monserrat too.
New York
New York city breaks are usually filled with plenty of food, shopping and sightseeing, but if you fancy something a little alternative, why not combine a break with a few days exploring the rest of New York state?

One of our favourite cheap city breaks, Prague offers budget friendly accommodation, food and drinks, and with British Airways' hand baggage only fares, is ideal for getting away for less.

In July, the "beach bar" are a fun way to take in the city, while in December, Berlin makes for the perfect Christmas market city break destination. Lots of culture, lots of great bars and just a short flight away.
British Airways Classes
On European flights, British Airways offers Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy class), while on long haul flights, you'll be able to enjoy Premium Economy and even First Class if you're one of the lucky few.
BA's short haul economy now offers paid for food and drinks on board, with Marks and Spencer sandwiches, so feel free to bring your own packed lunch on board if you're trying to stick to a budget city break.
For those lucky enough to be travelling in Club World/Europe or First Class, make sure you use the business lounges at Heathrow's terminal five. Or if you're travelling on certain overnight flights back to the UK from New York, you can make full use of the pre-flight dining at JFK airport, allowing you to enjoy your dinner before boarding, so that once you settle into your seat, you can drift off quickly into a deep and relaxing sleep, maximising your time in the air.
Booking Cheap City Breaks With British Airways
If you want to avoid low cost carriers like easyJet and Jet2, but still hunting for cheap city breaks, there are a couple of ways you may be able to bring the cost of your BA break down. For a start, booking your flight and hotel together on BA.com can not only save you money, but also means your perfect British Airways weekend break is ATOL and ABTA protected.
The BA sale also comes out several times a year, including peak booking periods like September and January so keep an eye out for the latest deals when the sale is released. And if you're an Executive Club member and collect Avios, login online to see how much you could save by putting Avios miles towards the cost of your weekend away. Don't forget you can also check your flight status and check in online too.
Last minute city breaks aren't always the best option, especially with British Airways, as the flights can get pretty full, however, it's worth regularly checking for late deals which could also bring down the cost of your trip if you can be flexible.
