Swimming Pools

There are two outdoor swimming pools here, the large main one which also hosts day time activities and aqua aerobics, as well as plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for daytime shade in the summer sun. There is also a shallow children's pool, perfect for the little ones to splash about. The luxurious spa is also home to an indoor hydrotherapy pool, although this is only available to those 13 years or older and there is an additional charge to access the spa facilities.

There is a small gym available for those who love to keep their fitness up while on holiday in the Algarve. With a couple of cardio machines and some free weights, it's just enough to get the basics in, however, there are also sports facilities and fitness classes like aquarobics also available.

There is daytime and evening entertainment on offer, ranging from poolside activities and games, to live music after dinner, quizzes, karaoke and themed nights. There's also a games room, multiuse sports courts, tennis court, plus a children's playground.

Children's Club

The kids' club runs during the day with lots of creative fun to keep the youngsters entertained while you're enjoying some peace and quiet by the pool. Activities range from arts and crafts to treasure hunts and much more, and is available for ages 4 to 12 years.

Green Buffet Restaurant - The Green Buffet Restaurant is open for all meals and serves up plenty of different international dishes for all the family, including a children's buffet section.
Blue Buffet Restaurant - The Blue Buffet Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is available for teenagers and adults. Children under 12 are not permitted.

Bars

There are two bars, the Grand Bar, which is the main bar and open from 10am until 12am midnight, offering an extensive drinks menu, and the pool bar, open from 10am until 11pm, and even offers children's mocktails.

Things To Do

While you might want to spend much of your time at the hotel, there is plenty of attractions to see and do in this part of the Algarve.

The nearest beach to the Alvor Baia Resort Hotel is Praia da Torralta, close to the Pestana Alvor South Beach hotel, and approx. 1.5km away, so about a 20-25 minute walk, or a five minute drive. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach from the hotel too.

Excursions

The hotel staff can help you book a variety of excursions in the local area, or you can book in advance to avoid disappointment. How about a trip along to Albufeira, a visit to Portimao or perhaps boat trip out to sea.

Nightlife

There is regular live entertainment and karaoke at the hotel, but if you prefer trying out the local bars and clubs, head into Portimao town centre, where you'll find a mix of bars to enjoy. Albufeira is a bit of a journey, but for a much livelier night out, that could be an option for you.

Getting Here

Guests should be able to book shared airport transfers as part of their ATOL protected package holiday. This can often be one of the cheapest and most convenient ways to get to the Alvor Baia Resort Hotel. Public buses are available, however, you would have to take three buses which can take several hours. Another alternative is a taxi or private transfer which can be prebooked. The journey will take around an hour and will cost around €50-60 each way.
