There are a number of holiday destinations from Newquay that you can enjoy, from Glasgow and Newcastle to Malaga and Dusseldorf. While you might not get as many options as flying out of the London airports, you can still enjoy a holiday from Cornwall easily to some popular locations.

The Algarve, Portugal

The Algarve is one popular holiday destination that Ryanair flies to. Faro, the Algarve's main airport, is served by Ryanair from Newquay between March and October for the summer season from as little as £29.99 each way, so you can stick within your budget easily. From here, you can visit great towns and beaches including Albufeira, Lagos and Vilamoura which all have budget friendly hotels and resorts.

Costa Blanca, Spain

Another great destination for sun is Alicante, gateway to the Costa Blanca and the likes of Benidorm and Torrevieja. Flights to Alicante are offered by Ryanair and are on a seasonal basis from March through to October. Ideally if you’re looking for a summer getaway from Cornwall.

Zurich, Switzerland

For a city break option Zurich offers the dramatic Swiss landscape with a cultural twist. Flights will operate from Newquay to Zurich during the summer with Edelweiss Air so you will generally have a three or four night short break option if you want to explore this part of Europe.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Within The UK

A couple of domestic cities are also offered from Newquay, including Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester and London Gatwick which may be cheaper and quicker than taking the train depending on where you are heading. A car journey can take between 4 and a half to 5 hours, while the train will take around 5 and a half hours (changing trains along the way).

about newquay airport

About Newquay Airport

Obviously the biggest advantage of flying from Newquay is that it's local to those living in Cornwall but there are a number of other great advantages why should book your holiday from here.

Newquay airport is small, which means there are only a few flights, and no where near as many people trying to check in and go through security all at the same time. Fewer passengers means fewer queues, less stress, a far more enjoyable experience and best of all, a great start to your holiday.

Being a small airport, the number of facilities available are limited. Coffee Republic is the food and drink outlet at Newquay airport. There is one located at check-in and the other after departures. There is also a shop in departures with a variety of local Cornish products. Car hire is also available with Hertz and Europcar both offering serviced rental locations here.

Car Parking

If you're arriving by car, there are several car parks close to the airport terminal. The closest is the east car park and has limited availability so it's best to book this early and in advance. Being close to the terminal does mean the cost will be more.

Public Transport

If travelling by public transport to the airport, the best option is using the number 56 bus which runs between Newquay and Padstow and stops at Cornwall Airport. Taxis can also be picked up outside the airport terminal.
