Being a 90 minute drive from the airport, you'll want to have plenty of things to do, from the truly incredible Jandia beach to lots of activities and adventures. Here are a few of our favourite things to do in the area:
Visit The Old Port Town of Morro Jable
The old fishing village of Morro Jable, now a small port town, sits about half way down the Jandia area of the island. Here, you can enjoy some of the local fish delicacies together with the infamous Canarian potatoes. For a day trip away from the pool or beach, head here to discover a little more about the local area.
Help The Turtles
Close to the port, is the Turtle Nursery in Morro Jable, which helps injured turtles back to recovery and hopefully released back to the sea. Think of it as a turtle hospital if you will. A lovely chance to learn more about these beautiful animals, the turtle nursery in Fuerteventura is a great family activity for something a little different to do when you're visiting Jandia.
Playa del Matorral Lighthouse
From Morro Jable, the beach to the right extends all the way around and up the coast of Fuerteventura. This beach is the Playa del Matorral which is one of the island's most iconic beaches. The sand here is white and the water turquoise. A perfect combination for those social media photos.
Golfing In Jandia
For golf enthusiasts, Jandia is nothing short of a paradise. The Jandia Golf Course, nestled in the heart of the resort, offers an 18-hole course that is both challenging and breathtaking. Surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Zarza Mountain, the course provides a dramatic backdrop that enhances the golfing experience. Designed to test players of all levels, the course features a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes, ensuring a varied and engaging game.
After a satisfying round of golf, players can unwind at the clubhouse, which boasts stunning views of the coastline. The clubhouse is well-equipped with a range of facilities, including a spa for relaxation, a restaurant serving delicious meals, and a bar where you can enjoy a refreshing drink. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a beginner, Jandia Golf offers an unforgettable golfing experience in a spectacular setting.
Day Trips
There are also a couple of day trips in Jandia that can be enjoyed while on holiday. Try a trip right to the bottom of the island to the Faro de Punta Jandia, or if you're feeling outdoorsy and adventurous, head to the Pico de la Zarza in Jandia Natural Park, the highest point on Fuerteventura at a height of 807m. Your hotel will be able to organise trips or you could hire a car and venture out yourself.
Relaxation & Leisure
Jandia is the ultimate destination for those seeking relaxation and leisure. The resort offers a range of activities to help you unwind, from swimming and sunbathing to trying your hand at new water sports. The beautiful beaches, such as Playa del Matorral and Playa de Jandia, are perfect for a day of relaxation. With their calm and clear waters, these beaches are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, allowing you to explore the vibrant marine life.
For a more indulgent experience, the resort's spa facilities provide a range of treatments designed to rejuvenate your body and mind. Enjoy a soothing massage, a refreshing facial, or a relaxing sauna session. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere of Jandia makes it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of other lively resorts in the Canary Islands.
