There are several room types here to choose from ranging from the Standard Room, all the way up to a Jacuzzi Suite. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, blackout blinds (very important), smart TV, as well as bathroom toiletries and amenities including a bathrobe and slippers.

Standard Room
The standard rooms at the 3HB Faro are the cheapest, yet offer modern, stylish and comfortable rooms to enjoy. From soft bedding and bathrobes to USB ports by the bed, Bluetooth speaker and coffee machine with capsules, these rooms actually feel far from standard. These rooms can sleep up to 2 adults in a double or twin room configuration. They can also be sold as single rooms for a slight discount.
The Standard Plus rooms offer everything you'd expect from a Standard Room, but with a little extra space. There's an extra sofa bed in these rooms, which can sleep up to 3 adults or 2 adults & 1 child. You can still expect all the other good stuff, like Satellite TV, air conditioning, blackout curtains and, of course, free WiFi.
Don't need the extra space but would like a little something special? The Standard Jacuzzi rooms are a ideal upgrade if you enjoy spending time on the balcony, soaking in a hot tub. You can expect all the other amenities of a Standard Room too.
For a slight upgrade, book into one of the Superior Rooms which is the same size as the Standard Plus although doesn't vary too much to the furnishings of the other rooms and also has one double bed or two single beds.
Extra space and a hydromassage bathtub are the main upgrades included with a Superior Aqua room. Despite being bigger and having a sofa, these rooms can only sleep 2 adults but are a bit of a romantic upgrade.
Suites are the ideal upgrade for more space, and particularly for a family of four. With a separate bedroom and living area, the 3HB Faro Suites have a double bed, plus a sofa bed, sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults and 1 child. You'll still enjoy all the other great amenities like Bluetooth speaker, smart TV, air conditioning, kettle and coffee machine, as well as bathroom amenities, a balcony and free access to the spa and gym.

One of the main attractions here is the rooftop swimming pool which overlooks the city and offers stunning sunsets from its infinity style outlook. Up here there's also an ample selection of sun loungers with parasols which have just as impressive outlook. There is also an indoor pool in the spa area.

This isn't your typical Algarve holiday hotel. Being in a city centre location, it's much more orientated towards a sunny city break style stay, so don't expect all the daytime and evening entertainment you'd find at a large all inclusive resort. Instead, you'll find a carefully selected range of guest DJs playing live sets at the bar.
Spa Facilities
For those who want to relax, guests can enjoy free access to the calming spa which has all you need to unwind, including a sauna, Turkish bath, four sensory showers, a heated pool with jet massagers and the relaxation are which has loungers too. Open from 9am - 1pm for everyone (4 years old and above only), and from 2pm - 7pm for guests over 13 years old, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind on a cloudy day, or before you have to head to the airport for your flight home. A range of treatments are also available.

Kids' Clubs
Although the hotel welcomes families it is quite adult orientated. As such there aren't any kids' clubs here, so if you need to keep the children entertained, it might be worth looking at more typical holiday resort style hotels further along the coast in places like Vilamoura, Albufeira or Lagos. However, there is a small playground here for a little activity for the kids.

Head upstairs to Hábito Restaurant for exquisite Portuguese and local Algarve food, ranging from traditional dishes, to a more modern take on local favourites. Up on the roof you'll find H.Bar. Open daily from 10:30am - 10:30pm, the bar is the ideal spot to enjoy your favourite beer or cocktail while soaking up the sunshine, grabbing a bite to eat at lunchtime after a dip in the pool, or unwinding with a refreshing drink after a day of sightseeing around the marina and Old City.

Sightseeing
A short city break in Faro is perfect for combining a bit of culture, some great food, a spot of history and plenty of sun. Take to the streets to explore the city, being sure not to miss the popular Faro marina and Faro Old Town, which is home to the beautiful Faro Town Hall. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the main sights and attractions.
Day Trips & Excursions
It's easy to jump on the train in Faro and head along the coast to explore more of the Algarve. Take a trip out to places like Albufeira, Ferragudo and Portimao in the west, or journey east to discover towns like Olhao, Tavira and Monte Gordo on the Spanish border.
Beach
Despite being close the coast, the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa (Ria Formosa Natural Park) separates Faro from the nearest beaches. Take a taxi back towards the airport and spend a relaxing day at Praia de Faro for a day on the soft sandy beach here. Other golden sand beaches to take a look at include Praia da Quinta do Lago, or the spectacular Praia da Armona which is actually a boat ride away from Olhao. of course, that's if you can drag yourself away from the infinity swimming pool.
Golf
The Algarve is home to lots of beautifully designed golf courses, running the breadth of the region. Faro can be the perfect place to base yourself if you're visiting a couple of golf courses in different areas, like Vilamoura and Monte Rei.

Getting There
The 3HB Faro is just a 15 minute taxi ride from Faro airport. Located in the heart of Faro city, it's a convenient location for exploring both the city and as a base to explore the region. There is a direct bus service from the airport to the city centre, or taxis are readily available from outside the airport terminal. Once you're in Faro, exploring by foot is the best option and you may even find a walking tour to help find out more about the area. Faro train station is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, giving you easy access on public transport to other parts of the Algarve.

Our Review
Wow! We absolutely love this hotel. This is a gorgeous 5-star hotel which is perfect for a sunny city break. Although kids are welcome and there are rooms available for 2 adults and 2 children, it's very much a "grown up" hotel that it better suited to adult friendly city breaks in Faro. Spending time up at the rooftop pool and bar is a must, especially in the evening as the sun is setting, although the location is perfect in central Faro for exploring the city. Definitely worth considering for a celebration or just spending a romantic 2 or 3 days in the Algarve.
