Cheap Holidays to Cancun

Located on Mexico's Yutacan Peninsula, Cancun enjoys the tropical shores of the Carribean Sea, making it perfect for your next longhaul escape. The area is split into several resorts, including the famous Cancun Hotel Zone, so it's important to know which is which before you book. Let's help you find your ideal holiday to Cancun.

Cancun Destination Guide

Getting To, From And Around Cancun

Airlines & Tour Operators

Direct flights from the UK with TUI and British Airways, and indirect flights via the US, making getting to Cancun relatively easy, especially with TUI's direct flights from regional airports like Manchester, Glasgow and Bristol. The flight takes around 11 hours so settle in and throw on your favourite movie. You can book package holidays to Cancun via tour operators like loveholidays and On The Beach, and ATOL protected companies like TUI. If you have lots of questions, or have a more complex itinerary you're thinking of, it might be worth speaking to a travel agent like Kuoni or Trailfinders.

Getting To Your Hotel And Around Cancun

One of the best ways to get to your hotel is with an organised caoch transfer from the airport. This can be booked in advance either as part of your flight and hotel package, or separately. Once you've arrived getting up and down the Hotel Zone is cheap and easy by bus which runs 24 hours a day. If you're tempted to venture out, take a look at organised day trips and excursions so you don't have to worry about car hire.

Things To Do

Beaches

The white sand beaches here are incredible. You'll probably want a beachfront hotel, however, there are a couple of areas to look at, namely Playa Delfine which is much more open to the public.

Day Trips & Attractions

Lots of day trips are possible in and around Cancun. Try a boat trip out to Isla Mujeres or venture to the water park for a fun-filled day out away from your hotel.

Nightlife

Your hotel might have a few bars and restaurants but the real nightlife in Cancun is up in the north of the hotel zone near Punta Cancun. Here you'll find popular bars like Coco Bongo which offer shows and live music.

Golf

There are several great golf courses within the Hotel Zone, as well as one or two further south, making it great for a combined golf and winter sun holiday.

Where To Stay

Hotel Zone

Cancun Hotel Zone is the most popular area to stay. Expansive hotels, beautiful beaches and plenty to see and do, make it great for adults and children. It's also a very popular option for American students on Spring Break.

All Inclusive

Many hotels here have an all inclusive option, and all inclusive holidays in Cancun are very popular. Resorts like the Riu Cancun and Dreams Sands Resort are worth looking at.

Adults Only

Want to avoid the kids? Fear not, there are a bunch of adults only hotels in Cancun. Some bigger resorts also have a dedicated adults only section with adults pool and adults only restaurant.

Riviera Maya

The Riviera Maya is just south of the main Cancun Hotel Zone. This stretch of coast offers quieter stays but with big resorts. Further south still is bustling Playa Del Carmen and the island of Cozumel, before heading further south to Tulum.
