Aquashow Park Hotel

Located on the outskirts of Quarteira and Vilamoura, the popular 4-star Aquashow Park Hotel is a family friendly hotel linked to one of the Algarve's most exciting water parks, Aquashow Park. While the hotel has its own swimming pool, you'll also get free and unlimited access to the water park (either indoor or outdoor depending on whether you're visiting in summer or during the rest of the year).

Great for families, this hotel not only has a kids playground and play room, it also has family rooms and interconnecting rooms, making travelling together as a family, very child friendly. Reviews on TripAdvisor are strong, and of course, Aquashow Park tickets are included too.

The hotel is a little out of the way and you'll probably want to hire a car (or you'll likely end up using taxis quite a bit to get around). There is a bus stop outside the hotel with services between Vilamoura and Quarteira, and Loule, Faro and Faro Airport.

Twin Room

Twin and double rooms at the hotel offer all you need for your stay, with a spacious room, private bathroom with shower and amenities such as shower gel and shampoo. These rooms have two single beds which are pushed together. They also have a private balcony.

Interconnecting rooms and family rooms are essentially two adjoining rooms booked together. This is perfect for families who want the extra space of two bathrooms and a separate bedroom for the children.

Swimming Pools

There are two outdoor pools and one indoor pool here. The two outdoor swimming pools are the larger main one, as well as the infant pool. There is an indoor pool which can be great for the cooler months between October and April.

Water Park Access

All guests staying at the hotel can enjoy complimentary and unlimited water park access at Aquashow Park. The water park is made up of two areas, the outdoor water park, which is open between late May and early September, and the indoor water park, which is open between early September and late May.

Entertainment

In July and August, there is evening entertainment each night here, ranging from live music to karaoke. During the day, the programme is very limited, but there is a games room, plus a kids' playground and indoor soft play area too. There isn't a kids' club though. Other activities available include mini golf and an indoor play area.

Spa Facilities

Although there isn't technically a spa area, the heated indoor pool has a jacuzzi. The reception staff can also help organise an external company to offer spa treatments like massages and facials.

Fitness Centre

The gym is small with mainly cardio machines, however, there are a few free weights as well.

Kids' Clubs

Unfortunately, there isn't a kids' club here, but there are children's play areas both inside and outside. To be honest though, if you're staying here, you'll be spending most of your time in the waterpark!

Bed & Breakfast And Half Board

Bed & breakfast and half board are the two dining options here. If you're planning on spending most of the time in the resort, or aren't hiring a car, the half board option is probably best. If you want to get out and explore a bit though, go with B&B so that you can head down to Vilamoura Marina and try out some of the great restaurants and bars down there. It's worth noting that half board doesn't include drinks, and is breakfast and dinner only, not lunch. During quieter periods, the buffet dinner may also be replaced with an a la carte menu.

Restaurants

Charme is the hotel's restaurant, which serves buffet breakfast in the morning, a la carte at lunch and either a la carte or buffet style dinner depending on the time of year.

Bars

Requinte is the hotel's lobby bar which is where you can enjoy your favourite tipple of an evening. The pool bar is open during the day and serves both snacks, and soft drinks and alcoholic drinks to enjoy and cool down.

Vilamoura Marina

Although technically in Quarteira, if you're staying here, you'll probably want to venture down to Vilamoura Marina at least once. The marina is home to a huge range of bars, restaurants and shops, including favourites like Irish bars and the ALE-HOP store, as well as ice cream stalls and souvenir shops.

Day Trips & Excursions

There are a whole bunch of great day trips and excursions you can take in the Algarve, ranging from day trips to Faro city centre, to boat trips to see dolphins and the impressive coastal caves. There's also an open top bus which runs in the summer. These can all be booked in advance or you can book them when you arrive.

Beach

The nearest beach is about 5km from the beach. The nearby beaches are Quarteira beach which is often considered a bit more of a local beach, and Vilamoura beach which can be a little bit more touristy. But wherever you choose, there are a number of beach cafes and restaurants dotted along this stretch of coast, although they are usually only open during the summer months from April through to October.

Golf

Speak to any golfer and they'll tell you one of the best places to play golf in Europe is the Algarve. With lots of golf courses to choose from, lush green fairways and clear blue skies, golf holidays in the Algarve can be combined with a bit of fun at the Aquashow Park. The nearest golf course to Aquashow Park Hotel is Vila Sol. And if big golf isn't your thing, then try the mini golf at the hotel.

Go Karting

A five minute drive away is Karting Almancil, and exciting way to spend a few hours. This go karting track has both an adults track and two smaller go kart tracks for youngsters. Race against each other around the track, or you could even head out and go off-roading in a buggy!

Getting There

If you're booking a package holiday with TUI or with Jet2, you'll find that your airport transfer is probably included free. This can be the most convenient and cheapest way to get from Faro Airport to Aquashow Park. Hiring a car is easy, although it's best to do this in advance for the best price. There is free car parking at the hotel, subject to availability.
