The 4* Alua Atlantico Golf Resort is located in Tenerife's popular Golf del Sur area and is a fantastic holiday hotel if you're looking to enjoy the sunshine and great weather year round. Not to be confused with the Aguamarina Golf Apartments (part of the same Gema Hoteles hotel chain next door), the hotel is close to the rocky/pebbly beach, Amarilla marina and a short distance from not one but two fantastic golf courses in the area.
Enjoy room only, bed and breakfast or all inclusive as part of an On The Beach, Love Holidays or TUI package holiday, but you've got to make sure you head out of the hotel and try some of the local food in the nearby restaurants. Talking of venturing out, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus several times a day from outside the hotel to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, with the fantastic Siam Park water park is a fun filled day out, just a 15 minute walk from the shuttle bus stop.

Single Room
Rooms for sole occupants are sold as a single room, although will have twin beds. These rooms offer a bathroom with a shower in the bath, as well as satellite TV, air conditioning, and WiFi access (at an additional charge). These rooms can be upgraded to a sea view at an additional cost.
Double and twin rooms sleep up to three people, with the third person sleeping on a sofa bed in the same room. Double rooms offer private bathroom with shower and bath tub, satellite TV, and sofa, as well as access to hotel WiFi (additional charge).
Guests can upgrade their double room to a room with a sea view for a small cost (if going direct to Alua this is around €10 per night and offer all the same facilities as standard double rooms (including a sofa bed for one additiona guest (3 guests total).
Family rooms are available at the Alua Atlantico Golf Resort and offer space for a family of four (two adults and two children), with the children on sofa beds in the living area. These rooms enjoy more space with a separate mezzanine sleeping area for the double bed and all the same facilities you get with standard double rooms. During school holidays, kids can enjoy the dedicated children's club for ages 5 and over, however, this isn't available outside of school holidays so it's worth keeping in mind. But there are still plenty of activities on offer including the two pools, including an indoor pool for the rare occasion it rains. Pool side games are also of offer as is a five-a-side football pitch, beach volleyball court and two tennis courts, plus a small children's play area too.
Two pools are available to use, one outdoor pool which is salt water, while the indoor one is chlorinated and heated (particularly good for winter swimming)
Although there isn't a spa, hairdressing and beauty treatments are available to book at an additional cost, while there is also an on-site gym open from 10am until 6pm if you need to get a bit of exercise in. Guests can also enjoy a discount at the two golf courses nearby (Amarilla Golf and Golf Del Sur golf courses), with clubs available to rent at both.

During the day, activities like football, volleyball and aqua aerobics are put on by hotel staff, along with poolside games. During the evening, there is a mini-disco, karaoke and bingo to enjoy.

Breakfast and lunch are served in the main buffet restaurant while guests can enjoy dinner in one of three restaurants. The hotel does have a dress code of no wet clothes, barefeet or swimwear in the restaurants, and during dinner, men are asked not to wear sleeveless tops.
All Inclusive
Guests on an all inclusive holiday can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main "Handicap 0" buffet restaurant which has a wide all inclusive menu, and features regular themed nights like Mexican and Chinese cuisine. Drinks included are water, some soft drinks, local beers and local wines. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including tea and coffee are available from 11am until 11pm. All beverages included within the all inclusive offer are written in red on the menus. Afternoon biscuits and ice cream are also included between 4pm and 6pm.
All inclusive guests can enjoy food at the two themed restaurants (Argentinian and Canarian food) for a supplement of €5 per person during the evenings.

Things to Do
The nearest beach is just a 5 minute walk away, and is a pebbly/rocky beach. There is a small black sand beach the other side of the marina, but it's worth jumping on the bus to Playa La Tejita to enjoy a huge stretch of black sandy beach, and while you're there, try a walk up the Montana Roja for stunning views of the area.
From the hotel, you can also book many of the island's attractions including boat trips to see the dolphins, fun days out at Siam Park, quad biking around the Golf del Sur, or Segway experiences around the area.
Nightlife
This area is one of the quieter resorts in Tenerife and so nightlife near the Alua Atlantico Golf isn't as crazy as you would find in Las Americas. There are a few bars within a 15 minute walk away particularly in the area of San Blas. There's also a lovely bar at the end of the marina which serves cocktails and food and is an ideal spot for watching the sun set. For a livelier evening, down the road is the Wild Geese Irish pub which offers live music.

Golf fanatics are ideally situated close to two golf courses and guests can enjoy a discount on green fees at both. You're also close to the marina where a trip on a submarine to see the local sea life is a fun afternoon activity.
Shuttle Bus
The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus three times a day (except Saturdays) from the hotel to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. The shuttle is popular and it's recommended to book early when you check-in to get a space on the bus.
