If you're after a getaway with a more local feel, a holiday to Las Caletillas could be more your cup of sangria. About two thirds of the way up the east coast, Las Caletillas is a small town but a favourite for holiday apartment owners. You'll find hotel accommodation is limited but a lot of private holiday apartments on offer.
As the south side of the mountains, the weather in Las Caletillas is usually less tropical than the north, so you're sure to get year-round sunshine when you're relaxing by Playa Las Caletillas or nearby Playa Las Arenas.
Getting to, from and around Las Caletillas
If you're planning to stay in Las Caletillas, your best option is to hire a car so that you can get about easily. Las Caletillas to the south airport takes about 30 minutes by car. Public bus is possible, but you'll need to take two buses and change on the TF1 motorway which isn't ideal. If you've booked your holiday to Las Caletillas with TUI or a similar brand, a hotel shuttle may be included and is also another great option.
If you're planning a trip to one of the major areas like the Costa Adeje or Santa Cruz, the bus is a bit easier with direct bus services to both. Within Las Caletillas, it's really easy to get around, with the beaches and restaurants all within walking distance of most apartment blocks.
Things to do in Las Caletillas
Las Caletillas is a quiet town on Tenerife, with many people coming to simply enjoy the sun, sea and sangria. While there are some lovely restaurants to enjoy and beaches to relax on, if you want something a little more adventurous, you might want to head out of town.
Rated the number one water park in the world, the drive from Las Caletillas to Siam Park is about 40 minutes and well worth the journey for an action packed, fun day out. Alternatively, head north and explore Santa Cruz, Tenerife's capital or even further still to enjoy a day at the iconic Las Teresita beach.

Accommodation in Las Caletillas is relatively limited for hotels but there are one or two dotted about. Alternatively there are plenty of holiday lets to try out too so be sure to check for apartments.
