Getting to, from and around Los Cristianos

Driving from Tenerife South airport to Tenerife's popular holiday resorts, Los Cristianos is the first resort you'll hit as you swing onto the western stretch of the island. About a euro;25-30 taxi journey, it's quick and easy to get to, if you want to be at your hotel and on your sunbed as quickly as possible.

Buses also run from the airport to Los Cristianos and cost just a few Euros per person but will take a little longer, or hiring a car is also a good option, particularly if you want to head out an see a bit more of the island.

Things to do in Los Cristianos

Being close to the port, one of the must-dos in Tenerife is to head out on some sort of boat or kayak trip. Whether you fancy a bit of parasailing, kayaking around the rocks to see dolphins, or simply head out to enjoy some sunshine at sea, spending time on the water should definitely be on your to-do list.

Take some time away from the pool and head down to either Playa de Los Tarajales or Playa de Los Cristianos, the two beaches in this part of town. Both sheltered with sand to play in, you'll also get a great view of the ships and boats going in and out of the harbour.

For something a little more active, a morning hike up to Montana de Guaza will not only make sure you earn your lunch, but the views from up here are spectacular, offering sights down to Los Cristianos and Las Americas, as well as across the sea to La Gomera.

Where to stay in Los Cristianos

As with most resorts on Tenerife, there’s a variety of accommodation options to choose from including self catering apartments to help keep the cost down. But don't worry, there are plenty of supermarkets to grab the essentials and more than enough restaurants to choose from if you are eating out.
