Getting to, from and around Playa De La Arena
From Tenerife airport, it's roughly a 45 minute drive up the coast to Playa de La Arena and will cost around €60 in a taxi. A prebooked shuttle will take around 60-75 minutes and cost between €5-15 per person. Public transport is possible by taking the bus from the airport to Los Cristianos and changing.
Once in Playa de La Arena, walking around the town and nearby villages is relatively easy but to visit other areas of Tenerife, you should look at hiring a car. The bus will take you down to Playa De Las Americas in about an hour but they aren't too frequent.
Things to do in Playa De La Arena
There isn't too much to do in Playa de la Arena from a local attractions perspective, which is often why Brits love coming here, for the peace and quiet of a relaxed holiday. However, that definitely doesn't mean you'll get bored.
The black sand La Arena beach is popular for a day by the sea and you can also explore the nearby towns of Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes. And don't forget, you still have access to all of Tenerife's fun activities, tours and attractions. A tour around stunning Masca is a definite must if you're staying in Playa de La Arena.
